Biography
Jean Le Febure ( Lefebvre ) 1930-2013. In 1949 Lefebure studies at the Ecole de Beaux-Arts under Paul-Emile Borduas. 1952 Moves to Paris and exhibits with Marcel Barbeau, Paul-Emile Borduas, Jean-Paul Mousseau, Marcelle Ferron and Jean-Paul Riopelle. Exhibitions: 1954 Salon des Realities Nouvelles, Paris 1955 Galerie Iris Clert, Paris 1962 Galerie Arditti, Paris; Galerie Levi, Milan; Spoleto, Italy 1963 & Returns to Canada in 1965 and exhibits at Galerie Soixante. Works in the collections of the Musee d’Art Contemporain, Montreal, Musee d’art de Joliette, PQ, Musee national des beaux-arts du Quebec and many important private colloctions.
He taught at Laval University and CEGEP St-Laurent for twenty years finally retiring to the country in the Eastern Townships. Jean Lefebure died peacefully in Montreal March 21, 2013
